Jamming in Demola

There was Demola Jam last week in 22nd November. 

There was two main sessions in the workshop day: feedback circle and value creation work shop. In the feedback circle, all teams were divided according to the function team such as: Business, Technical, Social team and after that teams paired up with others to present ideas and providing feedback. Our project team paired up with two other teams working with Google Glass application and Measuring fun for theme park. We did exchange ideas and gave feedback to each other. Our project received positive feedback from other teams and they also received different constructive comments.

Firstly, they commented about the benefits of teachers who would be potential participants for this learning platform. Although becoming a better teacher is ideally meaningful, teachers are still looking for practical benefits such as promotion or salary increasing. In our project, we have paid more attention about the certificate part. Teachers would receive official certificate to show what they have learnt for their future career development.

Secondly, other teams gave feedback about the inter-personal skills and interaction in learning. Teaching is not only about reading articles or watching the video, learners also need to interact and communicate with others. This an idea what we have been already considering of by using "the Teachers Room" part in our website. There learners will have a chance to discuss and interact to learn from other teachers around the world. Plus every on-line lecture includes two small task that need to be done with being interactive with others.

In total, the day was again enjoyable active filled day within lots of creative people and huge amount of skills from various different areas. Thank you Demola for organizing it!

Getting Closer To Our Goal

04.11. we met our project partner and presented the first draft of learning model we came up with. After few hour long meeting with constructive feedback we got acceptance that the direction we had chosen were good, but also tips about things needed to still pay more focus before final result would be completed in satisfied way.

During few weeks of silence in the blog a lot have happened. 

We needed to sharpen the focus what we were reaching and have now been working hardly towards it by brainstorming the content, having breakfast meetings and wrote or drawn numerous paper sheets full of thoughts. There is less than a week until the next project partner meeting, where we will have a lot to present:  A ready demo of e-learning platform we have created. After presented it, once again according to feedback we will "shape the diamond" before gathering feedback from end users.

So what are we having then?

The demo will include the structure of the web page as functional learning environment and to make it more visible we will have a one part of the demo course implemented on the platform. Three main elements that need to remember on this stage are Course, Module and Lecture. What do they mean, will be presented later on. 

Not just we are having the demo of the learning course ready, we have also paid more attention on business concept of the e learning platform and the ways how it will be turned profitable. So as this was one of the major feedback from our project partner on last meeting, we will now present some kind of numbers to give an idea what it will be.
